A quick stop out of the car during the journey over Masca Valley to Garachico

On the North West coast of Tenerife lies the historical town of Garachico. Once buried underneath lava after a volcanic eruption  the inhabitants built the town again and it rose above the ashes. Nestled below a 500 meter cliff the town is popular for its lava formed natural swimming pools and volcanic coastline.

Contemporary Spanish buildings and quaint streets are what make this part of Tenerife worth visiting. The drive up from Los Gigantes through Santiago Del Teide over the Masca Valley is a trip worth taking in itself. Magnificent views over a volcanic landscape makes the journey to Garachico even more stunning.

These are just a few photos I took over the several visits I have taken to Garachico.
